Online reputation management is a facet of online marketing that is still in its infancy.
Pioneers like Andy Beal are paving the way with books like Radically Transparent and tools like Trackur, which show us how to use the information out on the web to recognize issues that arise and how to combat them.
The issue, like with any new concept, is that CEOs and decision makers are still not educated enough on the concept to completely invest in it.
Tools like Trackur offer a trial period, but I have found that decision makers can still be quite closed off to concepts such as these.
So how do you show benefit to such an individual.
The best way is to offer them a free tool they will see benefit, and then let the transition to a better paid option for monitoring be their idea.
Some great tools out their right now are:

I tried these tools out this weekend, and still found myself wanting something.
So I created a little tool with my basic coding skills.
Snydey Web is a tool that will allow you to view rss feeds and search results for various terms across various platforms. It also allows you to view the “buzz” on the web around the term using Blogpulse and Google Trend tools.
This part was pretty taken care of by the other tools, but I wanted to create a way that people could create “reputation feeds” by combining the feeds into one, or several and organizing them in their feed reader. So Snydey Sense shows you the feed url to each piece of information, allows you to copy and paste it into RSSMix.com, create a single feed, which you can then put into your favorite reader.
I will likely do a detailed post this week showing how you can shape an RSS Feed reputation monitoring strategy from this tool later this week.
For now, It would be great if everyone could use the tool and give feedback. I know there are some great things I could do via AJAX to make the tool a little more sophisticated, but I would need some developer help for this type of work.
Enjoy!
Looks good to me.. Nice resource..
